The Crawford Stewardship Project works to protect Crawford County and neighboring regions from threats of polluting and extractive industries, to promote sustainable land use, environmental justice and local control of natural resources. The project’s mission statement is “empowered communities in sustainable relationships with thriving ecosystems.” Their protection and improvement oversight includes drinking water, surface water, mining threats, and sustainable agriculture.
